Action Taken Following Community Concerns

Hi Resident,

We rely on information and reports from our community to help identify issues affecting local residents. Acting on intelligence and concerns provided by members of the public, on 22/10/2026, officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team joined Trading Standards to conduct a visit to Texaco Garage, Cale Green.

The visit followed numerous reports that nitrous oxide products were being sold to persons under the age of 18 and supplied inappropriately.

During the inspection, officers located and seized 21 boxes containing six Smartwhip nitrous oxide canisters in each box, along with a quantity of crackers used to dispense smaller canisters and balloons stored in the same area.

As a result of the findings, two males were arrested on suspicion of Possession with Intent to Supply a Class C drug. Both individuals remain under investigation whilst enquiries continue.
